The history of Bellsund (Spitsbergen)

Since the beginning of the 17th century up to the present day, the area of Spitsbergen (Svalbard) has witnessed various forms of human activity. This activity has been particularly concentrated in the northwestern part of the Wedel Jarlsberg Land. It belongs to the extremely interesting areas of the archipelago in terms of archaeological sites and material traces from the history of exploration of this region.
